This is a unique opportunity for children and the young-at-heart to see a variety of animals up close and personal. Watch baby chicks hatching from their eggs and feel the soft fur of the baby bunnies. Don’t miss the new lambs with their woolly fleeces and the frisky baby goats. Sheep Shearing – Saturday from 10:30 until shearing is done

Sheep shearer Margaret Quinn uses traditional hand blades to shear the fleeces off the Quiet Valley sheep. The wool is used on the farm as it is washed, spun into yarn, dyed and then woven into cloth on the cabin loom during the summer.

Sheep to Shawl – Saturday

The spinners and weavers will be doing a Sheep to Shawl demonstration where they will take a freshly sheared fleece, spin it into yarn and weave it into a shawl all in one day. The shawl will be raffled off at our Old Time Christmas event in December.

One Room School presentations – both Sundays throughout the afternoon – see signs

Get a glimpse of a typical school day circa 1893.
